OOC: Whee! Topic revival! XD
Alright, I never EVER intended to do this, but I feel this topic has become too aimless on my part. So, let's mix things up a bit in an overly cliche way, shall we? ;p

"Ssh!" Ceilidh snapped at once when she heard a russtle in the bushes. She shot her eyes to in the direction it'd come from but found nothing but a quiet bush swaying in the evening breeze. "Hmm..." she murmured, her nerves calming a bit as she went back to surveying the area. There was still no sign of danger, yet the trainer could not shake her uneasy feeling.
"Click."
The girl's and Mareep's gazes both jerked towards the sound, eyes going wide with shock at the sight of a gun barrel sticking out of the same bush and pointed straight at them.
"Holy ****! Get down!" Ceilidh yelped at once, implusively clutching Alya in her left arm while spinning around to snag Six roughly with the right. She barely had enough to time throw him and herself to the ground as a shot rang out, something zipping just inches above their heads to collided with a nearby tree trunk.
"Dammit! Are you okay, Alya?!" the Orre trainer cried, releasing her grip on Six to push herself up into a sitting position and stare down at her Pokemon. The Mareep looked a bit battered, but she simply stared back up at Ceilidh and bleeted reassuringly. The trainer smiled weakly in return. "Now then, what the hell was that?! Ceilidh's smile faded to rage, pushing herself to her feet and glaring at the source of the chaos.
The gun barrel had disappeared behind the leaves but there'd been no sound of retreating footsteps. "Who's there? Show yourself, you bloody coward!"
"Bah! No need to get so bent out of shape. It was only a tranq dart," a bodiless voice replied with a slight chuckle. Out from behind his camouflage appeared a middle aged man, probably in his late 30s. With the aid of the moon light Ceilidh noticed he was wearing a cowboy-like hat, a leather jacket, jeans, and knee high boots to match. Leaning back against his left shoulder was the long-barrel rifle. (OOC: Heck no I don't know gun names
)
The girl raised an eyebrow quizzically. "What the hell are you supposed to be, a cowboy?"
"As a matter of fact, yes. You're a sly one, aren't you?" the man smirked. "But, to be more exact little girl, I'm a bounty hunter."
"You're a what...?" Ceilidh almost choked on the words. It was all just too much. "What, did the wild west leave you behind? Get sucked into the future through a worm hole?"
"Think you're funny? Well, good for you. Doesn't deny what I am," he replied a bit less warmly, tapping himself on the shoulder with his rifle a few times. "People put out bountys and I fulfill 'em. Pays a heafty amount of cash at that. I'll have you know my current job'll rake in enough cash for me to rest easy for at least the next six months. And you're standing in the way."
The girl went silent at his last words, looking over her shoulder to Six and staring puzzedly at the boy.
"No, no you idiot! Not him. The Dragonite!"
"Oooh!" Ceilidh's face lit up with acknowledgement, but soon it faulted and she growled, "Like that makes it any better! And why the hell did you shoot at us?!"
"I already told you. You're in my way, and nothing's going to get in my way from completing this job," he replied coldly.
"Like I give a crap! You're not going anywhere with that Dragonite! Right, Alya?"
"Reeep!" the small electric-type nodded with a defiant cry.
"You wanna battle me? Then bring it on!" At that the man ripped two PokeBalls off his belt, tossing them to the ground where they cracked open to reveal an Electabuzz and a Scyther. The two Pokemon stood side by side, Scyther clanking its bladed arms together above its head while the Electabuzz slammed together two electrically-charged fists. Both looked like formidable opponents.
"Oh, it's on now!" Ceilidh grinned wildly. "Yo, Six! You take the Electabuzz. Me and Alya will handle the Scyther."
"Mareeeep!" Alya bleeted, leaping out of the girl's arms to land gently on the ground. The small, fluffy Pokemon didn't look like much compared to the deadly mantis Pokemon, but her focus was as sharp as could be.
"You're going to regret this," the man sneered at the two teens.
"Enough talking!" Ceilidh snapped. "Let's battle!"
