Holli and Tyrogue were concentrating far too much on reaching the top for the mountain and didn't hear a thing...
OOC: Sorry, I'm kinda stuck for ideas on how to get myself back in...

"yes, like the thing i used on your foot" cherry said, yet again looking down at her own bare feet. When she looked up at Kat she realised immediately that something was wrong "are you alright?" she said running to Kat's side to hold her upright. Cherry was clueless as to what was wrong with Kat but seriously wanted to help her. As was showing more obviously she didn't know people were like and so looked up at Augustus for help.

Meanwhile, three quarters of the way up the mountainside, Holli and Tyrogue were starting to struggle. Tyrogue was already a good few yards ahead of her when Holli spotted a tiny leaf that stood out from the rustle of yellowy-brown moss. It was as if she were drawn to it...Stooping down to pick up the small, teal-coloured leaf, she let out a small gasp of surprise. Are you coming? Tyrogue sauntered back to her side. It’s warm! she replied, warm – and moist! Tyrogue glanced at the coarse, crackly leaves around them, probed Holli’s confused thoughts again and eventually came to the conclusion that his mistress had gone mad. You can stare at it later, let’s finish what we came here to do, he pushed to the front of Holli’s mind again.
What we came here to do...the thought echoed around Holli’s head. She was certain that Tyrogue’s view of the mission wasn’t quite the same as her real reason for coming all this way: to her pokemon, she had maintained that this was a training exercise; but to her, the mountaintop held far more than a couple of gained levels or skills. Her parents had disappeared on this mountain – along with several pieces of magical equipment and the most advanced mapping technique on the island – and Holli was determined to find something...anything...
She heard a slapping noise and suddenly found a large red mark on her arm. Tyrogue! she shouted in her mind. Putting the strange warm leaf into her pocket, she chased her cheeky pokemon up the slope, every step taking her nearer to the peak...

Kat shook like mad, breathing heavily. A sudden chill had come over her, and the closer that girl, Cherry, got to her, the worse she felt. At first it was only the bottom of her foot, but it soon spread through her body, causing her to back away from the girl slightly. When she ran to her side, she closed her eyes in fear. With her eyes shut, she could remember what happened when she was four better...
'She's awake,' the girl had said, and Kat sat up nervously. She was shaking violently, and bandages covered her hands.
'What happened to me? Where am I?' she said, frightened. She couldn't see her mother anywhere, and the girl was the only one in the room. 'Who are you?'
'My name is Rachel. Your mother went home. She left you here. She thought you'd gone crazy.' Kat couldn't believe her ears. Her mother had left her? And she'd gone... crazy? And why did she have bandages covering her hands?
'Crazy?' She decided to start slow.
'You thrashed about, scratched yourself. It was hard to even get you into the next room; I had to teleport you.' So the girl could teleport? She must be... psychic... Kat felt cold again. The shivering started, and she struck out at the girl again. The bandages unwrapped themselves, her wounds glowed a vibrant red...
Tears filled Kat's eyes, and she thrashed out at Cherry. 'Keep away! What do you want!' she cried out, shivering like mad. Her fear and anger overcame her, and she grabbed the girl. Her hands burned fiercely, but she ignored the pain, throwing the girl as hard as she could at the mountain wall.

Cherry was amazed at the strength of the girl as she flew backwards with a great force. She smacked into the mountain wall hitting her head so hard that she immediately fell unconscious, falling to the floor in a cloud of dust. Her un-cut hair fell across her face, hiding it completely. She lay totally still for a few moments before a strange force began to move her hair and then to drag her upright from her shoulders. Her head fell, her eyes shut, completely unaware that she was being pulled upright by some strange and mysterious force. This power kept raising Cherry up until her dainty feet delicately left the ground and hovered a few feet off of the ground. Here her head slowly lifted up and her eyes opened and practically burned blue. Here she stayed for a few moments.
Slowly Cherry raised her arms up to meet each other, straight out infront of her and a golden light began to grow in between them. The light shined in her palms, spreading slowly, all the time rays of light pouring out of the gaps between her fingers. Clouds gathered in the sky making it dark and looking like there was going to be a storm. A wind started howling, blowing Cherry's hair around her head. Suddenly the light shined so bright nothing could be seen but when it died down Cherry was crouching on the ground, her hair covering her face again and out of the slits in her dress were a pair of small wings. What looked like rain began to fall but when it settled it disolves straight away. The rain glistened and shimmered more than any other rain, in fact more like fairy dust. Cherry's wings were red next to her skin but went through purple to a sky blue with many more specks of fairy dust in them. Then Chery raised her head slightly so her hair parted and spoke in a small voice but one full of emotion "the ledgend is true, there is a fairy living at the top of Mystery Mountain.... it's me"

Kat stepped away from the girl - no, fairy - in horror. How could fairies be real? They were only stories for kids! And that magic... Was that what made her act like that? And it also explained the pink glow she had used on her foot. She nervously approached the fairy, still shaking slightly, but definitely in control of herself... for the moment. 'D-did you use that magic on my foot? Do you know why I act like that around some people?' she quizzed gently, shivering. The strange rain fell around Kat, but didn't seem to touch her; instead it dissipated about a meter before it could reach her.

Cherry stood up and pushed her hair behind her ears before saying "yes i used magic on your foot but i've never been around people before so i really don't know what's wrong with you. The magic might have affected you in some way, i mean it might be too strong for you. You see fairy energy is very concentrated so if any gets into anyone it could affect them, like it did to you, or it could just brush over them. Depends on the person." Then she turned to Augustus "did you know about this?" she asked wondering exactly how much he did know.

"N-n-no" Augustus replied, "I knew about where you came from, the village at the top, and I knew everyone there has strange powers, but a fairy? I didn't know that! This must mean you know about what's in..." he whispered, "the vault!"

Nearly there, Holli thought ecstaticly, as the ground started to level slightly and Tyrogue started running even faster. Just a few more steps... The aches in her legs had disappeared now, the cuts and bruises littered around her body were far, far away...all she had to do was climb that little bit further and she would find her past, her future; her parents, her destiny...
Then her world exploded.
Just as she glimpsed a small village a few yards away, Holli felt a great force seize her, a glowing pink shield of infinite length and strength, crushing her senses so that all she was aware of was shock, disappointment...and the fact that her body was being blown away, gently pushed off the mountain, falling gracefully into nothing as her pokemon watched in horror...
She was already unconscious when she fell past the others on the ledge.
OOC: she’s not dead yet...

Augustus felt it. "The girl. With Tyrogue. The shield! NOW!" he started to run up the mountain. He threw his Togetic's pokéball and the pokémon burst out. He shouted over his shoulder "COME ON!"

Cherry's eyes widened again. She knew that the girl would not be able to get through the shield and so would probably be seriously hurt by the power it used on trespassers. Cherry bent her knees slightly and sprung into the air, her wings beating hard and a fait buzzing sound coming from them. She caught sight of a small girl falling down the side of the mountain and so flew directly towards her as quick of a blink shouting behind her in quite a croaky voice, she had not shouted in a long time, "she's falling down the mountain!!". Cherry caught the girl but was unable to hold her weight and so had to use all her strength even to stay in the right place. Although being quite agile she was not strong and so had to find the nearest ledge to put Holli on before she dropped her! Cherry found one and laid Holli down on it before collapsing beside her. Then Cherry held out her hand to revive the girl but panicked she could use her magic to help the girl but did not want to harm her like she had done to Kat. The other problem was that now she knew. Many other people had tried to get to the top but were caught in sudden landslides. Cherry found it very easy to rescue these people, she flew them down to the bottom of the mountain, woke them up and then flew off very quickly. Most people were too afraid after these events to ever come back which was a relief to her. Cherry's hand shook above the Holli's head. She felt helpless and didn't know what to do. So many questions that she had put to one side now come flooding back into her head and overwealmed her. She took back her hand and sat completely still forgetting where she was and all about Holli.

Kat brushed a lock of hair out of the way of her eyes as Holli fell past. Trying to follow Cherry on impulse, she climbed past the many rocky ledges and boulders to reach where they had landed. Shocked by the scratches she saw on the girl, she ignored the lack of any injuries on her own body. 'Holli! HOLLI! Are you ok?!' she called out over the howling wind, struggling to get over to her. 'Cherry, is she ok?' she asked the fairy, slightly scared. Only then did she notice that her knees, although they had scraped against the cliff face and knocked against the boulders, weren't harmed in any way. The same went for her hands, face, her whole body. Sitting on a small ledge above the others, she examined herself closer, then broke down into exasperated sobs. 'What's happening to me...' she managed to mutter between sobs.

Kat's presence made Cherry snap back into reality. She immediately held out her hand and placed it onto Hiolli's head, shut her eyes and let a light blue glow appear. Holli didn't look too badly hurt but there still was the problem of the fact that she had seen something at the top. When Cherry lifted her hand off Holli's forehead she clicked her fingers and her wings shrunk again. Then she stood up, having heard what Kat said but not acknowledged it yet, and waited for a response from Holli.

...It was her 3rd birthday, but Holli could still see the tension behind her parents' happy faces, the angst-filled looks they passed to each other, the barely-concealed haste with which they presented a gently moving bundle to her, each lovingly muttering something in her ear as she cuddled and cooed her new pokemon as any other normal girl would play with her favourite doll; but the life of this girl was soon to become anything but normal... ...Just a cheerful, nonchalent wave and they were off. Holli watched as her parents rode away with their Medicham, a barrow of equipment and their guide, a tall but slightly hunched hiker who called himself Janus. As the rest of the crowd that had gathered to see the three off dispersed, the hiker turned and met Holli's gaze instantly. She clutched Tyrogue's hand tighter as she saw the strange blue glint deep in Janus's eyes, the tiny tear-shaped scar just below his left ear, and the menacing smile playing about his lips - then he and her parents were gone. Holli restrained herself from somehow running after them, just to give her father one last hug, her mother one last kiss... ...There was something about the village, perhaps how it looked empty but felt so alive, or maybe just the fact that it was alone on the mountaintop, cut off from the rest of the world. There were a few beautiful cherry trees dotted around, an aging couple walking together below the pink boughs...and a tall man staring at her. As Holli felt the mystical power paralyse her, her eyes remained fixed on the man's face, a miniscule spot on the left side reflecting just that little bit more sunlight than the rest of his sallow skin; she saw the glimmer of cold, blue light in his eyes, just as her vision clouded over and another blue glow replaced the scene in her mind...
Holli sat bolt upright. She took in her surroundings in a moment, then saw Cherry standing next to her. The events of the past few minutes flashed through her mind again - suddenly she sprang up and pinned Cherry against the mountain wall, hand on her throat. "Who the hell are you? You put that stupid shield thingy there, didn't you! You knew I was gonna reach the top, so you tried to stop me, but you failed!" Her eyes were blazing, her other hand curled up in a fist. "I saw the village, I saw it, and I'm gonna find my parents, you can't stop me! I saw - " then she remembered his face. His horrid, horrid face, jeering at her...then she remembered something else. "TYROGUE!!!" Knowing full well it would take her another 3 hours to get back to the top, Holli let go and started scrambling up the mountainside anyway, calling back over her shoulder, "If you've done anything to my Tyrogue, you're gonna pay!"

Cherry sighed and when the very angry Holli had gotten out of ear shot she spoke quite sharply to Kat "Not a word of my powers to anyone. Get it?" Red sparks flew over the marks Holli made with her very tight grip completely healing it. Cherry had a duty to her village but what had they done? Made her an outcast even after all she'd done for them, made the force field, helped them stay hidden and even protected them from most trespassers yet they still didn't consider her as one of them. She went over what they had said time and time again in her mind "You are not one of us! You were born from the earth not from one of our families. You have no right to your powers and therefore you must leave." That day she left all she had ever known behind her. Her world crashed down, all she'd ever known suddenly disappeared. She had been abandoned, thrown away. And still she found she had some duty to protect them. She had to find some way to stop Holli from blaming her, she had enough troubles without being hated by one more person. If only she could think of a way out....

Kat backed away from the sparkles as she felt herself become dizzy again, but tried to ignore it. 'I- I won't,' she managed to gasp between violent shakes. Then, quickly turning to try to get away from the magic, she scrawled after Holli. 'Wait! The other went after your pokemon, they'll be back as soon as they can! Wait for me!' she yelled desperately, trying to reach the desperate girl. Waves of dizziness swept over her, but she ignored them. Soon, though, they would be to strong to take, and she would fall...

Holli didn't need to turn around to realise the extent of Kat's injuries - her footsteps were unsteady even for a small girl. She slowly came to a halt, turned and glared down at Kat. Suppressing her rage, her features became slightly warmer. "Fine. But I deserve to know your names first," she finally said, "and that includes your friend down there." She strode back down the few yards she had climbed and glanced at Cherry.

Kat gasped in exhaustion, and slid down to the ledge. Her behind hurt a bit, but she knew there would be no marks. There'd never been any marks anywhere. She'd only just realised. She was still shaking, too. It was getting even worse. 'Holli - Ow,' she said, as her shivers smashed her shoulder into a boulder. 'My name's Kawaguchi Katana, or Kat. I don't know - ow - what's happening to me...' Again she was brought against rocks, and her feet gave way. She began to fall, down, past the ledge, grabbing at loose rocks in vain, and finally slipping out of consciousness. She fell over a large ledge, and was thrown unknowingly into the air.

Holli gasped as Kat's body arched back into thin air. In less than a second she was running towards the foot of the mountain, but the little girl's body was falling too fast...Why the hell is she just standing there? a voice in her head asked, as she sensed Cherry just standing on the ledge, doing nothing. Kat was nearing the bottom now..."Are you just gonna stand there and watch her DIE?" Holli shouted against the rushing wind. "Make another shield or something - and QUICKLY!"

Cherry had looked in horror, rooted to the ground, as Kat had fallen. She felt so responsible for this girl seeing as it had been her magic that had started the whole episode. She didn't want to give herself away to Holli aswell but there was no other way to save Kat. There was no time to think though so she focused her mind on Kat. Cherry saw her falling closer and closer to the ground. She lifted up her arms and a yellow light shined out from them. She directed all her energy at Kat, stopping her from falling and then slowly but surely dragging her back up the mountain back up to the ledge she was standing on. There she left her before collapsing in a heap on the ground, exhausted from the work. She still had to wake Kat up though. Cherry figured that if most of her mind was shut down then the magic shouldn't affect her as much so, for the second time in what seemed like 5 minutes, Cherry used a blue light on the unconscious girl's forehead and woke her up.

Holli stood stunned, amazed at Cherry's powers. But she'd learnt from past experiences that standing doing nothing would get her nowhere, so she only threw a quick glance Cherry's way, then kneeled down to help Kat up. "Are you alright?" she asked, the nonchalant look on her face not entirely hiding the concern which came out in her voice.

Cherry met Holli's glance and knew that now another person knew about her and the village at the top. But what could she do? Cherry hated the village, they had abandoned her just for being different and somehow felt that if she handed Holli over to them she would be doing the right thing. Yet somehow she didn't want to give Holli over seeing as they could do anything they wanted to her. She didn't know how hostile they could be to anyone who was slightly different. It just wasn't fair.

Kat looked up, slightly dazed. The world rocked in front of her eyes, and she sat up quickly. Throwing up down the cliff, she wiped her forehead and fellonto her back again. 'What was I doing again?' she said weakly, trying to sit up. Then, after failing this, she slumped down and muttered: 'What was the blue flashy thing?'

Augustus scooped up the lost and scared Tyrogue and held im in his arms. He gently started to walk down the mountain to where the girls were. He put Tyrogue town, and it ran towards it's owner. Then he released his Togetic and used it to Teleport back to his home...

Cherry heard footsteps up the mountain and after analysing them realised that Augustus was coming back down the mountain. She sighed deeply before answering again in her smallest voice "that was me waking you up. You should be fine now." Cherry shot a glance at Holli and chose to ignore her previous question even if it was just her name.
