Rachel smiled for a split second, and pointed to the side of Epona. 'Teleport.' Sophierre immediately blurred briefly, and ended up beside where the ponyta would land. Rachel grinned as her pokemon swung her arms round in an arc, preparing to karate chop Epona.

Epona landed gracefully and swung her head around, fire now burning in her eyes, to see a hand landing on her back. She neighed laudly as the katate chop hit the middle of her back but was used to pressure being applied from being ridden by Zelda, so it didn't take too much damage. She turned around to face Sophirre just as Zelda was shouting "Fire spin!!" Epona's mane and tail burned brightly, huge flares jumping from them into the air, and before long her whole body burned so brightly it was almost impossible to look directly ather. Then, the flames proctically exploded form her as rings of pure fire radiated away fomr her, stopping just before Zelda and Rachel.
OOC: well at least I can find something to write *glares*

Ki looked on in astonishment. She'd never seen a pokemon battle this fierce - having said that, she hadn't really seen many pokemon battles at all. Her Mudkip and Wurmple came back to her side and watched from the relative safety of her lap. Come on, Zelda, she silently willed on her new friend.

OOC: Hehe, sorry Rosie...
BIC: Rachel smiled, as did Sophierre. 'Silly girl, you should know better,' she muttered under her breath. Out loud, she commanded: 'Psychic.' Sophierre held her arms to either side, just as the waves of flame were about to hit. Suddenly, a purple glow surrounded her, stopping the fire in its tracks. The sphere of energy expanded rapidly, accelerating towards the fire type. As it advanced, the flame was reflected off in all directions, but mainly in Epona's way. Rachel smiled. This was always her favourite part of any battle.

OOC: ^accelerating dear, how could you get it wrong even with physics lessons behind you?
BIC: Ki's eyes widened as she saw the attack Epona was about to experience. She clenched her fists and willed the pokemon to survive...the sword slung on her back started to tremble...

OOC: yes after 2 months of waiting here's my reply! my mind works at an amazingly fast speed..... don't you agree?
BIC: Zelda couldn't take it anymore. This Gardevoir was going to seriously injure Epona and there was nothing she could do. Her mind ran helplessly through several plans but before it could come to any conclusion her body had reacted. Zelda's legs started to run. They moved faster than she thought possible and took her straight to Epona's side. As the wave got closer and closer She tried frantically to push Epona out of the way but it was no use. Epona wanted to fight but did not know the immense power of this attack. All she knew was the fear pounding through Zelda's heart as the wave spread over the battle field.
A piercing scream filled the air. As the wave passed over Zelda her legs buckled and she collapsed in a heap on the ground, her face screwed up with pure pain. Epona whinnied and reared behind her, having escaped most of the attack, but was panicking. The bond between this horse and rider was very strong. As an emotion flooded though one body it rippled in the other. Pain, love, fear but most of all danger. Epona felt that now. Looking at the unconscious Zelda and wishing about all else that she would wake up.

"NO!" Ki jumped up in a whir of silver and blue: her sword, buzzing with rapidly increasing energy, had found its way into her hand. She rushed over to Zelda and instinctively grabbed hold of her hand, as if it might do something to reverse what had just happened - not that she was sure of even that. But there was one thing she knew. "You almost killed her." The small girl's voice was dangerously low and calm; normally so cold and distant to most, she seemed to be radiating heat - most of which was directed towards Rachel. Ki turned slowly towards the other girl and her Gardevoir as her sword rose towards the pair...

Rachel stared at the girl as she ran in the path of the attack. No... she thought, frantically calling to Sophierre to stop it quickly. But not fast enough. The attack struck, Zelda crumpled to the ground, and Rachel flinched. She felt paralysed as Ki jumped up, aiming her sword at the trainer and her pokemon, and then-
No. Rachel jerked her head to look at the Gardevoir, who had a terrified look on her face, but was speaking telepathically to all present. Put that down. You know well it was an accident. no trainer should stand in the way of a powerful attack, such as that. Pokemon are capable of taking attacks similar to this, and are able to be healed in pokemon centres which are easy to find. Centres for humans are much more scarce, and trainers know this. This should never have happened, and neither myself nor Rachel were expecting this. It was an accident. Leave it at that and call for an ambulance.

Ki froze. I am not hearing strange voices in my head, I am not hearing strange voices in my head, I am NOT hearing strange voices in my - She shut her eyes, trying to block it out, just like she used to with the others, she didn't want it to come back...but still, the voice got through, and for once, Ki listened. By the time the voice had finished speaking, Ki was trembling slightly. Her eyes met with Rachel's and the Gardevoir's, and slowly, she lowered her now stilled sword and sheathed it. "Alright. But I kinda don't know this place at all... what is an ambulance?" she asked, feeling very stupid.

Rachel grinned, and teleported the distance to the fallen girl. Sophierre tried to calm the ponyta, sending calming psychic waves towards it. 'An ambulance is a vehicle for transporting grievously injured people to a place they can be healed. A hospital,' Rachel explained calmly, lifting the injured to a standing position. 'I can teleport her to one, if I have to. But I still advise calling an ambulance. And... what's with the sword?'

Ki stiffened. She didn't like talking about her past - or even thinking about it for that matter - and she still didn't quite trust Rachel...Well, Zelda's life is in her hands now, her inner voice told her, careful to keep the wards up. She must be trusted, if only partially. Ki sighed and slung her sword off her back and unsheathed it slightly; the metal was now cold and grey: lifeless. "This sword is a... family heirloom," she said finally. "It reacts to its rightful owner's feelings, drawing energy from them, and occasionally jumping into the owner's hand if the situation seems...dire." She looked at Rachel and gave her a rare smile. "So, we call this ambulance with these things on our wrists, right?"

'Yep,' she said, and grinned. 'Just press the top left button, and say who you want to call - In this case, emergency ambulance services or something similar. I've sort of got my hands full at the moment.' Rachel shifted the weight of the limp body, and slung Zelda over her shoulders, holding her in place. 'Tell them to come to Lake City Pokemon Centre, I'll get her there. Other than that, we should be just fine.' And with that, she teleported to the pokemon centre, startling Nurse Joy and the rest of the people inside. Laying the girl on a nearby sofa, she tried to maintain the grin, but failed. A tear dropped from her chin. This was never supposed to happen.

Ki hurridly pressed the button, not even noticing Rachel's disappearance. "I need an emergency ambulance please! My friend has been injured by a pokemon attack, she's at Lake City Pokemon Centre, please help her!" she shouted into the pokewatch. When she was sure the message had got across, she nervously approached Epona, who seemed to be slightly calmer; but the flames in her mane were still very real, and Ki didn't fancy any burnt fingers. "Come on Epsy," she said, trying to reassure the pokemon. "We must go and see if Zelda is alright." Epona had noticed the disappearance of Zelda and now was frantically looking around for her but when she heard Ki’s voice she understood immediately and allowed her to climb onto her back before rearing and galloping off into Lake City, following the signposts and Ki’s instructions to the Pokemon Centre.

Zelda opened her eyes. The light was dim. She blinked making a cave wall come into focus. The sound of a waterfall filled her ears. Petals were scattered on the floor, red, pink, peach, yellow, cream. Zelda raised her eyes. A golden figure sat on a pedestal stared back at her. She felt warm breath settle on her neck, spun around and saw Epona blazing just behind her. A warm gleaming voice spoke: “Everyone has a destiny Zelda. Very few have theirs revealed to them. You are very lucky to be here but you friends are worried about you.” Zelda had turned back to the golden woman but did not seem surprised or amazed that what seemed like a statue was talking top her. “My friends?” she questioned. “Or those who will soon be your friends. Your path together is littered with adventure and danger.” She paused “but let us not dwell on that. I am here to tell you of your future with Epona. But first I must tell you of your past.” The figure paused again, almost expecting Zelda to say something. “Birth patterns are intriguing but random. Very rarely do they happen at exactly the same moment in time but once every thousand years or so an exact birth time is shared between two beings, making an unbreakable bond. As you may have already guessed you and Epona share that bond but the strength of this bond is bigger than you know. Through your lives this will be a help and a hindrance, but never lose each other for this is when you will be in most danger. This bond is such that when you die, Epona dies too. Beware danger ahead and protect each other with all your might. “It is time for you to return to your world now. Remember what I told you.” The figure shimmered and spun as Zelda slowly regained consciousness, her fingers twitching and her mouth moving to make the word “Epona” but no sound leaving her lips.

"Zelda!" Ki rushed to the girl's side as her eyes fluttered open. "Are you alright? Does it hurt badly? Do not worry: an ambulance will be here soon, you will be alright, and Epona's here too - " Her jumbled but relieved words were cut off by Epona's joyous whinny; Ki smiled and jumped out of the way to let the elated Ponyta through.

Every inch of Zelda screamed with pain. She gasped for breath but it only made it more unbearable. She managed to make a faint smile appear on her face when she heard Epona neighing and felt the ponyta's warm head on her arm. She felt so helpless lieing there and there was nothing she could do. Her eyes filled up with tears. Why couldn't she have a normal life? Why did she have to jump in front of that atack? Why could she not change her destiny? One tear escaped before Zelda had a chance to blink it back.

After a few seconds, Ki heard the piercing sound of what must have been the ambulances, screeching to a halt outside the Pokemon Centre. She tried to smile reassuringly to Zelda, only to notice the agony behind her strained face. Oh no... she thought desperately, carefully wiping the tear from the girl's cheek with one long blue sleeve while a hand emerged from the other and rested on Zelda's fingers. "You will be alright, Zelda, my friend," she whispeered, wishing her words as she spoke them; words she repeated by her side in the ambulance as the paramedics took the girls and their pokemon away, and as they waited in the hospital, praying that Zelda would indeed be okay.

OOC: Oklydokly, buckaroony!
BIC: Rachel frowned as she sat beside Zelda's bed. The doctors had long since left, and it was nearing sunset. 'Are you feeling any better?' she asked roughly, trying not to convey her sincere feelings. She was really worried about this girl. If anything was really wrong, it would be her fault. She was the one responsible. It was her pokemon's attack that did it. And no one could tell her otherwise.

Zelda's pain had started to wear off since the masses of painkillers that she had been given. "like you'd care" she croaked "need i remind you who's fault it was?" Zelda fell silent again and went back to thinking about the vision and prophecy that she had seen and heard. It was a lot less painful than trying to make conversation.

Rachel frowned again, and turned away. 'Well, if you don't appreciate my help, I'm not going to mention what your small weak mind gave away while you were unconscious, Miss Bonded-to-her-pokemon,' she said huffily, and made to leave the room.

Zelda made to jump out of her bed but after trying to sit up adn failing she gave up and decided to shreik at the top of her lungs instead. "How dare you! You're just jealous. Just because i'm different. It's always been the same, right from the day i was abandoned. Always your kind against mine. Those whith people who cared about them and those who don't. It's been a soundless war going on for ages." Zelda gasped for breath again, all her strength once again taken out of her, realising what she had just said and worrying.
