Neil Catcher climbed to a small podium, overlooking the small crowd that had turned up for the event. 'Right, everyone! It's time to open this contest! You have one hour to catch the best pokemon out there, and the best one will win a prize! But you only have 30 balls to use, so use them wisely.' He glanced over to Gita, who smiled encouragingly. 'Sign up quickly, and only one pokemon allowed! Have fun!'
Neil jumped off the podium, and rushed to collect forms from eager trainers. Gita winked at him. 'Never been this busy before, has it?' she said, trying to take too many forms than she could carry.
'That's because it had a little bit extra advertising,' he replied, and retreated to the usual stand they used for collecting.
OOC: Ok, I've set it up! You have 24 hours, so at 5:30pm (British time) tomorrow, we'll judge the results. Only pokemon from the Bug Catching Contest in G/S are available, plus a few extras. All catchable pokemon listed below. Don't make any unfair catches!
Caterpie Metapod Butterfree Weedle Kakuna Beedrill Paras Venonat Scyther Pinsir Wurmple Silcoon Beautifly Cascoon Dustox Seedot Shroomish

Andre handed a form to his mother. Gita turned to him and said "Andre! " in a warning tone, and he replied "I'll be careful!" soothingly. He took his Slugma and gave his Caterpie's pokéball to his mum and set off to Darkness Forest...

Rachel teleported in, already clutching a form she'd got from a scientist in Senkrad. 'Here you are,' she said, handing the form to Neil. 'I've only got one pokemon with me, my Ledyba. So, is that all?' she said, grinning.

"Yeah..." replied Neil, slightly bewildered.

Willow quickly filled in a form and yelled, "See ya later!" to Rosetta, then ran off into Darkness Forest, Treecko right at her side. They soon attracted the attention of more than a few annoyed pokemon: not surprising, given the amount of noise they were making. The first appeared out of nowhere and glared at the partners from the long grass. "Hey look Treecko! It's a Scyther!" Willow gasped, as much from amazement as from exhaustion. "Go use Pound!" But the Scyther ws far too quick for either of them, and before she knew it, Willow was watching Treecko getting Quick Attacked left, right and centre. "OI! Stop beating him up!" she yelled, as she attempted to keep track of the battle. Finaly giving up, she dived into the grass and bounced out with Treecko in her arms. "You okay buddy?" she asked him as she ran through the forest. Her pokemon nodded grimly, then leapt out onto the ground and ran over to some damp leaves under a large oak tree. "Errr...Treecko? We gotta keep moving, we're not going to find any pokemon under - WOAH!" Willow screamed as a small yellow and green pokemon that looked vaguely like a mushroom jumped out. "Cool! A Shroomish! Treecko, use Leer!" Her pokemon obeyed, then dodged the Shroomish's tackle. "Let's do this! Pound that pokemon!" Treecko launched a fierce attack on the poor Shroomish, not letting it get away. "Okay Treecko, that'll do!" Willow threw a Ball at the dazed pokemon on the ground and watched in anticipation as it shivered and beeped. Then, just as the atmosphere seemed too tense to move, the ball cracked and a jet of red light shot out, revealing a rather irritated Shroomish. "Dammit!" Willow yelled, as the pokemon used Absorb on the unprepared Treecko. "Come on Treecko! We can do this!" she whispered as he brushed the forest leaves off. "Okay...run up the tree, then jump off the branch and try Pounding it from there!" she said, hoping it would work. Treecko did so, and as he jumped Willow closed her eyes...let it work...let it work... She snapped them open to the sound of her Treecko's whoops and laughter, and saw the knocked out Shroomish, "YES!" She punched the air and threw a second Ball to finally capture the pokemon. "You rocked, Treecko!" Her pokemon grinned back, as if to say I know. After a few moments of celebration, Willow realised that they were still lost in the middle of Darkness Forest, with only 20 minutes left to get back to the contest stands. "We gotta run, Treecko," she shouted as her legs picked up speed. Eventually they returned to the podium and collapsed onto the grass, prompting a couple of concerned looks from other competitors. Willow heaved herself up and waited for the results to come out.

OOC: Right, that was a total flop. Only one person actually caught something. I think we'll just close this, Willow can keep her pokemon for argument's sake, and leave the whole thing until we've got more active members. Sorry guys... -_-"
