OOC: Ok i know this is bending the rules but it's only for one RP rachy so don't get annoyed. Yes, this is another Pokemon only RP but it's based in a Pokemon Reserve and you can be WHATEVER POKEMON YOU WANT! You do not have to start at the bottom of the evolution chain (e.g. you can start as a Fearow, instead of going though the whole "having to evolve a Spearow" stage). It's a huge Reserve with plains, forest, caves and a river, suitable for Pokemon of all kinds. ENJOY!
BIC: Spirit cantered leisurely around the reserve, through the plains, past the caves and the river and into the forest. There a clearing stood, with towering pine trees all around. A rock rose out of the ground as a platform on one side of the clearing. The Rapidash walked majestically up to the edge of the rocky platform and let out a huge whinny. Rearing and stamping on the ground then followed this. Hopefully all of the Pokemon in the reserve would co-operate for once and come to the clearing to her Spirit out.

OOC: ok, I'm letting this through, as long as no one uses any pokemon used here in any other thread ever again. Anyway! Back to the thread. BIC: A large pokemon lifted its head from the grass, growling slightly as he heard the Rapidash call out across the reserve. Calling out to the others in his pack scattered around him foraging for food, he set off at a run to reach the clearing. Others of his kind followed, calling out to each other to make sure they were close together. Crossing plains and jumping streams, they made their way to the clearing together and as loud as a stampede of tauros. Skidding to a halt, the Absols made sure they were all present and unharmed by their short journey, before settling down to listen to Spirit. The main Absol sat at the front of the pack, licking his sides free of mud and twigs that had been caught up in his run. Looking up, he grinned at Spirit, ready to hear the fire-type out.

With a loud crack, a Kadabra appeared in the middle of the clearing. He didn't have to be that loud, but he was bored, and he didn't know what the hell the meeting was about. With another, slightly quieter, crack, he re-positioned himself at the edge so that he could disappear unoticed if he had to.

High in the sky a large black Pokemon soared in silence, watching as Pokemon below emerged from the safety of the trees into a large clearing within the forest. A Rapidash that stood at the edge of a rocky platform appeared to be calling them forward in preparation of giving some sort of speech. What's that Spirit up to this time... the lizard thought with a snort of flames, beating his broad wings and circling above the fire horse for a few moments before making up his mind. With a flick of his long tail and arching his wings the Charizard went into a mad dive for the earth, pulling up mere feet above the heads of surrounding Pokemon and sending a few smaller ones tumbling off their feet by the wind pressure. He looked back at them out of the corner of his eye and smirked, gliding on silently to come in for a gentle landing at the far edge of the group. There he folded his wings and stared up at the familiar fire-type, intrigued to hear what the Rapidash was so eager to share. OOC: Rachel said using a shiny Charizard was just as legal as any other non-Legendary Pokemon, so no complaints

OOC: It goes without saying, NO LEGENDARY POKÉMON
BIC: The Geodude Brothers had been in a dark cave, exercising with rocks, when they heard the stamping and whinnying. As they zoomed out of the cave they grabbed a pair of startled looking Igglybuffs, who started wailing. As they flew through the woodland, dodging trees, the Igglybuffs got even more frightened, and went into a stunned silence. They got to the clearing, and dropped the Igglybuffs onto an unexpecting, sleeping Snorlax's stomach. They then turned around in the air and settled themselves on the ground, next to a Marshtomp.

Swampert lifted it's head above the cold lake water. He could see other pokemon running in the same direction. The large blue pokemon made it's way to the shore and lifted itself up on to the grass. Putting out a large dripping we paw he managed to stop a passing poliwhirl.
"Where is everyone going?" Swampert asked.
"There's a Rapidash in the clearing it's calling all of the pokemon from the reserve." Poliwhirl said before running off toward the sound of Spirits cries. Swampert dropped to all fours and started running as fast as it could toward the clearing. When he reached the place he was amazed to see so many other pokemon. All different types and sizes all standing together waiting to hear what Spirit had to say.

"As you may have noticed" the Rapidash said, slowly and clearly "the winds have started to change and the colder weather come. Last year" Spirit's voice darkened slightly and an accusing tone took over "a certain Houndoom made sure most of us starved. But this year we're going to start saving food early for the winter. You two, Geodude Brothers, are there any particularly cold caves where we can put the food?"

Kadabra rolled his eyes. A charity rally. What fun. He laid back, intending to watch the clouds float by for the rest of the afternoon.

A meeting... about gathering food? the black Charizard thought dryly as he stared up at the lone Rapidash. I guess it is important... Last year was a disastor for some of Pokemon. Might as well see where I can help.
The fire lizard turned its eyes to the Geodude brothers Spirit had called out to before and waited for their answer. Afterall, no point to start gathering the food until there was a proper place to store it.

"Yeah, I think so!" "Yeah I think so too!" "Yeah..." "Yeah!" "Where?" cried one of the Igglybuffs. "On the North-East side of the park, close to the river!" said the wiser Geodude brother. It's called Icicle Cave, the Piloswines and Swinubs keep their food in there!"
OOC: I am moving this and making a new board for the reserve, cos it isn't really in Umi City, so there will be a board for Icicle Cave if anyone wants to use it (now or in the future!)

"Good. All we need now is someone to guard the cave and lots of food. Everyone who gathers food will receive food during the winter. Anyone caught stealing will be punished. Severely." the Rapidash said her tone darkening and eyes narrowing, scanning the clearing and making some of the smaller Pokemon hide behind others to escape her gaze. "Perhaps I can trust Ciaran to do that job." Spirit said slyly, looking at the powerful Charizard, one of her few and very loyal friends.

The Absol pack glared at a few Cleffas hiding behind them, nimbly stepping aside to expose them to Spirit's gaze. The lead pokemon stepped forwards, nodding respectfully to the fire type and sitting peacefully in front of her. 'You have my pack's word to help,' he said, speaking above the racket that had started to rise in volume around the accused Houndoom. The pack nodded, standing and bowing to the Rapidash respectfully. The leader grinned, and continued: 'We would gladly guard the cave as well, and you know well that we are suited for this perfectly.'

Three small Munchlaxes had clambered ontop of their father, Snorlax's vast stomach. "Yo Spirit!", on of them shouted, "What food we collectin'?"

"I wouldn't trust an Absol with a single berry never mind our whole food stock. All they do is attract trouble." Swampert said stepping forward. "I would do a much better job of guarding our food than this pack of bandits." The water type said loudly, he had never trusted dark types. The pack whipped round to face Swampert, there gaze fixed on the outspoken pokemon. The leader snarrled, he wouldn't have anyone disrespecting his pack.

OOC: I don't mind, I would've done that anyway. BIC: His voice now full of spite, the leader slowly stepped towards the swampert, growling, 'We do not attract trouble. You should know well that we do our best to prevent it! After all, who was it who foraged for days almost non-stop looking for food for your family? Us. Who was it who suffered the most during that same winter? Us. We lost several of the elders and youngsters of our pack, all for the pokemon here. You think we attract trouble? maybe we do, I don't know that. But we try our best to help where we're needed. If you think we should leave, then we shall.' At this point, the Absol was at the Swampert's feet, circling the water type slowly. The pack stood by, each snarling. They all knew the pain of loss, and the rumours held against them.

Ciaran gave an exasperated sigh as he watched the scene unfolding before him. Better speak up before this turns ugly... the black Charizard thought, releasing a thundering roar that echoed throughout the small clearing and ceased the rising ruckus. Turning his gaze onto Spirit he spoke boldly and clear for all creatures to hear.
"My strength is at your assistance, as always. Any thieves caught on my watch will wish they'd stayed in their eggs," Ciaran smirked slightly, though his expression soon turned stern. "That goes double for anyone needlessly upsetting the order with their own personal vendettas," he added, glancing at the Absol pack and Swampert out of the corner of his eye. "All help that can be given with this task will be openly appreciated. Only by co-operating will we prevent a similar reoccurrence of last winter's disaster."

"Thank you Ciaran" Spirit said before the whole clearing erupted with noise again. "I will trust the most reliable Pokemon, of course. Ciaran will need sometime for himself and I am very grateful for the Absols' offer, which I accept. We will be collecting all types of food but not in excess. We will of course need all the foot we can get but it is still early. Do not strip the bushes of all of their berries. At the moment eat what you would normally and give what you can spare. We will be giving rations in the winter to all who gather food." Spirit paused for a moment. A few Pokemon exchanged glances but none spoke. "As always there is the constant threat from poachers. We are all under threat, even in this reserve. We must always be aware. If someone needs help, no matter their species or relation to you, you MUST help them. I can not stress this enough. We live in a dangerous time but if we work together we can get though it."

The absol leader grunted in a last warning to the swampert, then turned back to Spirit. 'Thank you. We will do our best, both gathering and guarding.' With this short statement, he turned to the pack. 'The hunting party gather twice as much this winter. The rest of you will be put on guard duty, with two shifts. Same groups as usual. Only collect as much as you think is needed.' At this last sentence, the pack split up into their assigned groups and ran into the forests and plains. The leader stayed, sitting alone, smiling slightly.

Spirit tossed her head and reared up again, signaling the end of the meeting. Most scattered and went back to their everyday business. Gracefully the Rapidash jumped down from then platform and walked over to the Kadabra at the edge of the clearing. Before he could disappear again she spoke "I hope we can count on your help this year, maybe you can make your food count amount to more than a few berries." Turning her back on the Pokemon she headed over to the Geodude brothers, nodding at the Absol leader and Ciaran to come closer. "Can you show us this cave now?" She asked simply. She needed to know if it was big enough, and the others how they would guard it well.

"Interfering fire-type...." Swampert growled under his breath. He would protect any pokemon like one of his own family, Absol were different though. They were constantly being seen near natural disasters. Perhaps they weren't so natural though, perhaps the Absol attracted the disasters.
Despite his dislike of the Absol pack he was prepared to put it aside for the sake of the others. He might not enjoy it but it needed to be done. Not wanting to waste anymore time in the clearing, Swampert turned around and dropped once more to all fours. He started to run back to the lake, he needed time to think and talk with the others about the best way to manage the food collection. He knew that if they were to gather fish the best time would be now.
(OOC: Think of the fish as lesser pokemon, incapable of attacks etc.)

OOC: Pokémon don't eat other pokémon. They eat berries etc. (see above). BIC: "Yes Spirit" "The cave's this way!" said the brothers, zooming off out of the clearing, picking up the Igglybuffs again, who were looking confused once more. After about 10 minutes they arrived at a waterfall. They passed under the water and through a large opening in the surface of the rock. As they waited in the entrance of the cave they watched their misty breath, waiting for the others to congregate. A rather old, large Piloswine joined them and grunted "Shutup" at the cold squealing Igglybuffs. "So, wahat are you gehentlemen wahanting?" he grunted. The brothers looked towards Spirit

OOC: Pokemon must eat other pokemon, it makes no sense for them to live solely on berries and stuff. Pokemon are just animals with awesome skills. Also I'd love to see the effect passing under a waterfall would have on a Rapidash

OOC: Yay! Someone agrees with me and my theory! *grins*
BIC: The Absol followed the two Geodudes, lowering his head under the waterfall's force. Looking around the cave vaguely, he settled down on his haunches. 'Are you sure this will be safe enough for our purposes? It may cool the food too rapidly, or even not cool it enough. Also, what will happen if the waterfall freezes?' He looked at the Geodude brothers carefully, hoping that he hadn't offended them or anyone else occupying the cave.

Spirit easily kept up with the Geodudes, jumping anything in her path. She came to an abrupt halt at the waterfall though. If there was anything she hated it was water. The river was fine because it was small enough for her her to jump but there seemed to be no way around this waterfall. No wonder she had never noticed the cave before. Taking a deep breath she bent her head and jumped feeling the water hit her she had a searing pain all over her body. Still managing to land neatly she shook off some of the remaining water and tried to think through the pain. Looking around she saw the Piloswine. "I am here on behalf of all of the Pokemon in the reserve. As you know last year was a disaster and so this year we want to store food for the winter. These gentlemen recommended this cave. Would you be kind enough to help us?" The Rapidash spoke loudly, trying to ignore the steam which was now pouring off her.
