Kat sighed, and shook her head knowingly. The red blur brightened slightly. 'Typical, huh?' she said, and lay down again. Then, she thought for a bit, her eyes glazing over as she dragged back memories. 'I need to get up there. My dad... He's up there. Can we get up without being seen?' she asked, focussing on the cave again.

"Yes. But I don't want to go up there and if you get caught then..... well you'll get turned into one of them. As i said to Holli" Cherry turned to Holli with a narrowed glance and then back to Kat "just because he's family doesn't mean he'll remember you or love you. They're all slf centred now. Only thinking about them and the village. No room for outcastes." she spat looking away and trying to keep the tears from her eyes.

"Outcasts like you, you mean?" Holli said dryly. She was by now extremely worried about her Tyrogue, not knowing where it or the strange man going to get it was, and worrying made her rather irritable at the best of times.

"Do you want me to help you or not? Because i can easily hand you over to the villagers if you'd like that. I'd be quite happy to." Cherry snarled shooting her glare back to Holli, intimidatingly.

Kat looked confused, and levered herself onto her elbows. The soft floor covering was quite comfortable to the sand she was used to, so she found it easy to concentrate. 'But... I'm not an outcast. And my dad would know me, he's family...' she said slowly, working it out in her head. 'He has to know me! He's my dad!" she suddenly shouted, and the red trail burned around her, seemingly creating a bright aura. 'He has to...' she muttered angrily, standing up abruptly.

Holli broke away from Cherry's fierce gaze to cast a worried eye over Kat. "For once I have to agree, it's way too dangerous out there - and what is with that glow?" Holli's psychic powers were non-existent, so she hadn't really noticed anything before; but now, the redness almost shone through her eyelids.

'I don't know... what you're talking about...' Kat said slowly, through clenched teeth. 'It's not dangerous... He's my dad... Stop insulting me! I have to get up there!' She turned away from the candle-lit place, making to storm out of the cave. The red glow lit up the darkness ahead of her with fiery flickers, and she took a few bold steps. Maybe no one would stop her, but she had to get to her dad...

Forgetting that it was Cherry's cave and she'd probably find it easier to stop Kat, Holli launched herself at Kat's burning body. "Argh!" Her hands stung as soon as they touched the glowing figure, but Holli wasn't easily deterred. Sending some extra chi to her fingertips, she took a deep breath and jumped over Kat's head, landing neatly in front of her. Before she could react, Holli swerved slightly to the side and pressed two fingers into a certain pressure point (OOC: don't ask me where, I have no idea) on Kat's body, making her drop to the ground.

Cherry was amazed at the spontaneousness of this attack and before she could think what she was doing she had flung Holli against the cave wall as hard as she could. She reached out her hand towards Holli but then dropped it what's the point? she thought and, ignoring Holli, held out a hand to Kat, hoping it would not hurt her as it had done the first time.....

Kat knocked the hand away, hoping to hurt the fairy as well. 'Get off me!' she yelled, jumping onto her feet again. 'I'm going to see my dad whether you like it or not!' And again she turned to the cave entrance, and began to run through the semi-darkness.

Cherry felt responsible for Kat. She couldn't let her go. She hated to hurt people but she had to. Somehow now all the pain was coming up. It was the first time she had confronted her feelings about the village and the first time she had been with people for what seemed like years. But she had to stop Kat. For her own sake. She stretched out a shaking hand and reluctantly made a barrier just in front of Kat.

Kat ran straight into the barrier, a look of shock and excruciating pain crossing over her face as she bounced backwards with the impact. Her body arced backwards as she fell, the aura disappearing as she approached the ground, her face going through a variety of expressions: shock, horror, pain... then a sudden blank look. She hit the ground, bouncing slightly, her body limp and seemingly lifeless as she dropped into unconsciousness.
The woman stood in front of her again, but this time there was a man by her side. All his features were clouded and hazy, and Kat couldn't make out anything of him. But she could see something: a red glow surrounded him, not unlike her own aura. However, the woman was now clearly visible. She had long red hair going past her waist, and wore a black shirt and trousers. A katana hung at her left side, and she had one hand resting on it. The other hand fell beside her hair. She had a serious expression, and she also had a red glow, but it was quite faint. 'Why haven't you gone to the village yet?' she asked, raising an eyebrow. 'Your father needs you now. Get there quickly.'
'But Cherry keeps stopping me...' Kat said, and the woman's aura flared slightly with annoyance.
'Use your powers then!' shouted the woman, startling Kat. What powers? She had powers? Maybe this was why Holli had mentioned that glow, and both the man and woman also had them. She looked up, only to find the two fade into black, and the cave come back into her vision.

"I'm sorry. I can't let you out of here. I don't want you to get hurt." Cherry said with a hostile voice, when it appeared that Kat was coming around. She looked at the cave wall and where Holli was lying on the floor and almost felt guilt. "Tell me what you want to do and I can help you. Just don't go out unprotected. They can do awful things."

'I want to find my dad,' said Kat quietly, her voice rough from the impact of the shield. 'I've got to find him. He's at the village, the woman told me...' She closed her eyes, tired now. 'And I don't care if they can do awful things. I can protect myself,' she said, confident in herself. If she had powers, she'd put them to good use.

Rubbing her sore head (and other body parts besides) Holli slowly pulled herself up off the ground, glaring at Cherry. It's not as if I even hurt Kat - only jellyfied her legs slightly, she thought irritably. But with her back feeling like it had just been through a blender, she really couldn't be bothered to shout at anyone, least of all a fairy/faerie with strange powers ad a sharp tongue, so she settled for sitting back down, crosing her legs and beginning to heal...a very slight whitish light seemed to radiate from her heart as she slipped into meditation.

Cherry had noticed and felt the magical aura in this cave. Every single one of them seemed to have gotten one sort of power or the other. what a small world she thought sarcastically to herself and rolled her eyes. As Holli healed herself, the type of energy rtaidiating off of her was a specific type, Cherry turned to Kat and sighed deeply. Going up there meant she would have to face her past. If she lost her temper she could destroy the whole village, even the mountain. She brushed some stray hair out of her faceand shook her head, making her hair shine beautifully even thougvh she had never washed it in her life. A small smile of defeat whisked it's way across her face as she spoke. "Sure. Holli?" she said with a note of restrained anger in her voice "if you want i can help you find your parents too."

Cherry's voice seemed so far away, but what she said still jolted Holli abruptly out of her trance. Now close to fully healed, she stood up and faced Cherry in slight disbelief. "You're actually going to help me?" she asked incredulously. But before she could respond, Holli shook her head and let a small smile flick onto her face. "Well...thanks. But isn't it...well...dangerous up there, if they all have powers like yours?" she said in quite a small voice.

Now a malevolent grin spread across Cherry's face, as she tried to suppress it she looked down at Holli. "Are you saying you don't want to go up there after all? or are you just scared? I suppose your fighting skills will be useless against their powers. If you can understand all that." she said still smiling and gently flapping her wings.

Holli subconsciously balled her fists and inwardly rolled her eyes. Still, she had the feeling her body would be needing the heightened awareness and speed that came with anger later on, so she swallowed her rage and looked back at Cherry quite calmly. "You know I want to get to the top - and besides, I don't need fighting skills to survive," she answered in a surprisingly steady voice. "And fear doesn't have to be a weakness." Her eyes met Cherry's in a fierce but controlled gaze.

"Never said it was" said cherry meeting Holli's gaze with icy eyes. "i don't know what you expect teh village to be like but it's not going to be very happy once we crash land. Unless you have a better plan?"

Holli shrugged. "It's your village - we'll have to take your lead," she said with a smirk. She looked over to Kat. "Are we set?"

Cherry snorted "My village?" she said loudly "You must be joking! Have you got such a bad memory that you don't remember that i was banished?" a smirk spread across her face "I'm not sure your clever enough to 'follow my lead!'" Then Cherry felt something.... something she recognized. Something from the mountain. There was something that someone had taken form the mountain without permission. Her wings stopped flapping and twitched slightly. Her ears moved back slightly. What was it. "Who took something from the mountain?" Cherry asked with rage pushing it's way through her thoughts. The mountain was her home. It was fragile. It needed protecting. Cherry could not just stand by and watch adventurers trample all over it and take the plants. "Who took it?" She shouted with fire burning just behind her eyes.

(OOC: *glares at the typos*) Holli rolled her eyes. "Angry about this?" She produced the furry teal leaf from her pocket; it was still warm and strangely soothing to her blistered hands. "Took you long enough to realise it was gone." I guess even faeries/fairies have weaknesses, she thought to herself. She looked around at her bleak surroundings, suddenly noticing how strange the situation was. Not in her wildest dreams (and some of them were quite wild) could she have found herself on a mountain with dangerous villagers at the top and two wielders of strange powers not a foot away from her. A part of her wanted to burst out laughing, and she suppressed a completely inappropriate grin as she held the leaf out to Cherry.

Kat smiled weakly, getting up on suddenly stronger legs. The red glow brightened slightly, and the ten year old seemed a lot older. Her shoulders sagged under an inexplicable weight, probably due to her convction of finding her father. 'Let's go, I'm ready for anything,' she said lightly, trying not to let the pain show.

Cherry snatched back the leaf with outstretched nails, scratching Holli down her forarm. She gritted her teeth and restrained herself from futyher action. Turning her back on Hollu she placed it on a ledge in the cave wall where yet more candles were placed. "I have a lot less then you" the fairy muttered softly, catching words of what Holli was thinking. As she drifted across to teh ledge the candles on the far side of the cave guttered whereas the ones on the ledge burned brighter than ever. Cherry Spun around to face Kat. By now the sun had started to set. Reds, oranges and pinks danced on the wall of the cave from the only natural light visible. "It's nearing dusk. If we hurry we can make it to a cave further up. If we rise before dawn we should be there for sunrise."
