Holli hadn't a clue what was going on, but she knew from past experience that the look on Kat's face wasn't a good thing. Tearing her eyes away from the dispersing crowd - they're here somewhere, don't worry, she told herself - Holli instinctively grabbed Tyrogue and Kat and pulled them backwards, away from the man's prying hands. "Cherry - what's going on - I thought they wouldn't be able to see us," she hissed as quietly as possible.

"It's her aura" Cherry hissed back. The man had attracted quite a lot of attention from passers by, who had stopped and were staring at him. The adults had stopped pouring out of the shrine and were either watching the man with a red aura or heading back to their huts. Only one, older man, remained by the door. He locked it and then stepped forward, into the sun's early light. He was larger than the other adults, so he stood out when among them. He looked well fed and had a powerful presence about him. Cherry took a deep breath. This was the man who had thrown her out of the village because she was a threat to his leadership. He stepped through the crowd, the other adults parting for him, and put a hand on the man's shoulder.

The man looked up at him, mouth open. 'I... I'm sorry. It's the aura. It's the same colour... as mine...' He shrugged, helpless, his hand still outstretched. Kat frowned as Holli pulled her back, crying out slightly. 'No... Don't take me away from him! He's the one... from my vision...' Then, she snarled. 'Let go of me!' she shouted, tearing away from the girl's grip. Her aura wrapped around the man's, taking in its feel, and Kat smiled as she realised that it was truly her father.

"Well that's blown out cover" Cherry said loudly, making a quick movement with her wrist which lifted the enchantment on them. Many of the adults stepped back and gasped at the sight of the three girls appearing form nowhere. Cherry's wings flapped open, showing the crowd who she was. A woman fainted and another gasp rippled through those watching. "Ah, Cherry" the fat man said, "I knew you'd return someday."
Cherry stepped forward "I have come to settle some disputes from my past, and help these two become reunited with their parents. Kat seems to have found her father but Holli here has not seen her parents. Maybe you can be of some assistance to us." Cherry spoke loudly and clearly, her expression plain and her voice calm.
"You of all people know that anyone who finds the Village can never leave." the man answered just as calmly "We should just -"
"I don't want to cause any trouble" Cherry cut in, causing the man to anger slightly. "Now if you would kindly let Holli find her parents then maybe we can be on our way." Cherry added, her eyes narrowing slightly.

Kat's features broke into pure joy as her father gasped, and grabbed her face to feel his daughter's warmth after all these years. 'Oh, Katana, is that really you?' he said quietly, taking the young girl into a fatherly embrace. Tears shone on both of their faces, and Kat quickly returned the hug. 'I thought I'd never see you again,' he continued, then sharply ended the hug. 'And I never expected you to get that.' He gestured vaguely at her aura, his face deadly serious. Kat tried to hug him again, but he held her firmly back.
'I... I don't know how I got it, it only came part way up the mountain...' she murmured, and a strange feeling made it way onto her face, one of shame. 'I can't help it if I take after you,' she said, louder now, and more confident. At this, however, both broke out into large grins, and hugged each other once more before turning to stand facing the remaining two girls. 'We'll help you,' said Kat, but it didn't seem like her voice anymore. It sounded older, more confident and calmer. A slight smile twitched the side of her mouth upwards. Her new found powers had opened a lot to her in the short time she had spent reunited with her father.

The snatches of conversation floated over Holli's head as she concentrated on the crowd, searching almost desperately for a face, any face, anything that felt familiar...
"I'm over here."
The harsh voice broke into her thoughts as she whirled around less than a second later, knocking Tyrogue off balance. Standing nearby was a tall, slightly hunched man with myriad scars decorating his face, including a small tear-shaped one just below his left ear.
His eyes glowed an icy blue.
Holli trembled slightly as a name and a memory rose unbidden. "You," she spat out.
The man chuckled. It was not a comforting sound.
Holli took a step forward, readying herself for attack. "Return my parents to me," she demanded. You don't deserve the slightest politeness, Janus - you're damned well not going to get respect from me, however revered you may be here, she thought venomously.

"Now, lets not get angry" the fat man said haughtily, stepping forward again, but this time towards Holli and the man. "I'm sure we can come to some agreement."
"To make them your minions too?" Cherry said, spitefully, stepping in front of him again. "This is none of your business."
"On the contrary! This is all of my business. My village, my business. It's as easy as that. Now get out of my way you annoying little brat!"
"Well not this time" Cherry said without so much as a flinch or blink. She would not back down this time.
